About the Access Academic English method

Save time. Save money. You will beneft from personal attention to your specifc needs. Using Skype, your personal language coach will tutor you one-to-one for 2 hours a day, at a time best suited to you. With constant contact via skype and email, your experienced teacher will help you develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills so that you are more than adequately prepared to start right into your university course.

The Access Academic English course content is interesting and relevant, using articles from internationally respected magazines, journals and newspapers as well as listening lectures from the BBC and the ABC. The course aims to prepare you culturally for life in an English speaking environment.

Course structure and fees

You pay only for the contact hours. For only $25 USD per hour for individual lessons, you will get ;
• one 2 hour lesson per day, 5 days a week, via Skype.

Included in the course package, at no extra cost, are;

• a free, no obligation, assessment of your current English level
• access to recorded lectures and listening activities
• access to fully downloadable course materials and a free study skills guide
• weekly assessments to chart your progress
• marking of assignments and personal feedback

The academic English course is divided into 3 levels, each taking approximately 10 weeks to complete. Then there is a 10 week IELTS preparation course which can be studied in conjunction with the third level. Before enrolling, your tutor will assess your English profciency and place you in the appropriate level.
